Covid-19: JU teachers to donate 2-days wages to PM’S fund

Shahadat Sumon, JU correspondent: Jahangirnagar University Teachers Association (JUTA) yesterday have decided to contribute two day’s wages to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund amid the worldwide shutdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This decision has taken through an executive meeting of the organisations on Sunday.

“The decision has taken today (Sunday) where the teachers of the university will contribute the equivalent of two day’s salary.” said executive member of the organisation Prof Bashir Ahmed.

“A large number of people over the country staying indoors becoming unemployed after their workplaces were closed amid shutdown. We have decided to stand beside these marginalized people as conscious people providing daily requirement. ” he added.

Earlier, on Saturday JU officers association has decided to donate their one day’s wages to PM’S covid-19 fund and hoped that fund shall help the Govt in tackling the rapid spread of COVID 19 corona virus disease and provide some relief to the victims of covid 19.
