6-daylong drama fest begins at JU

Shahadat Sumon, JU Correspondent: A six-day long drama festival titled ‘Natto shromer char doshok natto parbon-2020’ has begun on Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus yesterday.

On Sunday (March 1), Holding the slogan ‘Kaler koraghte jege uthuk droher lal’ Jahangirnagar Theater organized the fest inaugurated by Prof AKM Shahnawaz of Archeology department hoisting the national flag and the organization flag at the university`s central Shaheed minar premises.

Later, they brought out a procession that paraded across the campus and ended by placing floral wreath at the grave of playwrite Selim-Al –Deen.

Meanwhile, Nurul Islam, General Secretary, Firoz Mallik Deputy General Secretary, Fazle Rabby joint-Publicity Secretary of Jahangirnagar Theater among others present on the inauguration program.

‘Let Me Out’ was staged at the Selim Al Deen Muktamancha at the beginning of the fest on the university`s Muktamanch area.

Mentionable, Jahangirnagar Theater will perform the drama “The Bet” on March 2, ‘Pulsirat’ by Pracchyanatto on March 3, ‘Rat Bhore Bristy’ by Upstage on March 4 and ‘Irsha’ by Prangonemor on March 5 will be staged.

On March 6 the Drama fest will end up with the reunion of current and former playwrights of Jahangirnagar Theater where Mohammad Rafikkuzzam, the lyricist and freedom fighter will be honored formally and dramatic honor will be given to Ahmed Kabi.
