Shahadat Sumon, JU correspondent: Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said that our nation will not be collapsed as the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is a great inspiration for us. He has directed properly for keeping constant economic growth at his tenure and our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working with the great efficiency to fulfill his unfinished tasks.
On Thursday (February 27) the minister remarks these while addressing the fresher’s Reception and farewell of the outgoing members of Comilla Zilla Students Association in Jahangirnagar University (JU).
Finance Minister said, “Bengali nation met the largest economic revolution from the last decade and we hope we will be included into the top 30 developed country`s by 2030. We will go beyond the Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia by this period.” He added.
“Bangabandhu`s master plan of building up a war-torn country in only three years is rare in the world history. After becoming the planning minister i used to build up our country following his plan and the people of our country are taking those advantage till now.” he further said.
Vice Chancellor of JU Prof. Farzana Islam said, “Govt. has allocated Tk. 1445 crores to develop our campus. We hope our teachers and students will be on side of us to complete the mega project and we will able to build up a modern campus including a modern library, hall and teachers and staff tower.”
Earlier, Comilla District Student Association of JU has honored Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal this year with crest on the program and Finance Minister distributed educational instruments among the root levels children’s surrounding of the University campus.
Conducted by the general Secretary of the organization Samin Yasir Shafin, professor of Sher-E-Bangla Agricultural university Dr.Md. Rahmatullah, Joint secretary of finance ministry Farid Aziz, Mozammel Haque, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, university registrar Rahima Kaneez, proctor A S M Firoz Ul Hasan among others present on the program.
Later, a colorful cultural program with the association of rock band Artcell and Asif Akber was staged at the university`s Selim Al Deen muktamanch.
