Workshop on Clean Air and Renewable Energy concluded

A two-day long workshop on Clean Air and Renewable Energy for Bangladesh has been concluded yesterday at the Institute of Energy of Dhaka University (DU). Vice-Chancellor of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman distributed certificates among the participants as chief guest in the concluding ceremony. The Institute of Renewable Energy of DU, The Earth Society and European Climate Foundation jointly organized this event, a press release said.

Director of the Institute of Energy Dr. S M Nasif Shams presided over the function while Convener of Climate Parliament Bangladesh Nahim Razzak MP, President of Bangladesh Solar Energy Society Prof. Dr. Saiful Huque, Country Lead of European Climate Foundation Monower Mostafa and Executive Director of the Earth Society Mohammad Mamun Mia addressed it as special guests.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman stressed the need for identification of sources of renewable energy and said “we have to make the young generation as skilled human resources in this regard”. He emphasized on conducting collaborative research to develop nanotechnology in the country. It may be mentioned that 100 young people from different universities and organizations participated in the workshop.
