Indo-Hellenic Society President calls on DU VC

President of Indo-Hellenic Society Culture and Development of Greece Dr. Dimitrios Vassiliadis called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman today, December 06, 2021 at the latter’s office of the university. Prof. Dr. A K M Khademul Haque of DU Islamic History and Culture Department was present on this occasion.

During the meeting they discussed about preservation of Greek heritage at TSC of Dhaka University. Indo-Hellenic Society Culture and Development President assured the VC of providing financial support to preserve and develop the Greek heritage at TSC.

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman thanked the Indo-Hellenic Society authorities for providing support and cooperation to preserve and develop the Greek heritage at TSC. The cultural heritage of Bangladesh and inter-religion as well as inter-cultural relationship with the international communities have been reflecting through this Greek heritage for long time, the VC pointed out. DU authorities have taken initiative to convey the message of peace and harmony of this heritage to the current and future generation, he added.

It may be mentioned that DU Vice-Chancellor had sought cooperation from Greek authorities through a letter earlier. According to the letter the Greek authorities have taken initiative in this regard. President of Indo-Hellenic Society Culture and Development Dr. Dimitrios Vassiliadis is now on a visit to Bangladesh to attend World Peace Conference.
