Nine students of KUET suspended temporally

A new committee of 5 members comprising teachers and officials has been formed to investigate the incident of the unnatural death of Professor Dr. Md. Selim Hossain. At the same time, the decision was taken to temporarily expel nine students of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET).

According to the decision of the 76th emergency syndicate meeting of KUET, proper investigation of the incident should be carried out and identification of the culprits involved in the death of Professor Hossain.

The chairman of the committee is Professor Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmad, Member Professor Mahbub Hasan, Member Secretary Prof. Md. Alhaj Uddin, External Member, one nominated representative of Police Commissioner, KMP, Khulna (minimum designated assistant commissioner) and External Member, a nominated representative of district administrator, Khulna (completed the rank of minimum executive magistrate). The committee will submit a report including recommendations within the next 10 days to the Vice-Chancellor.

At the same time the previous committee has been called off. On the other hand, at the meeting of the 76th syndicate, nine students were temporarily expelled from the university for the gross violation of code of conduct.

They are Sadman Nahyan Sejan, Reaj Khan Niloy. and Md. Tahmidul Haque Ishraq of the CSE department, Md. Sadman Shakib,CI Mahmudul Hasan and A. S. M. Ragib Ahsan Munna of LE department, Mohammad Kamruzzaman and Faisal Ahmed Rifat of ME Department, and Md. Naimur Rahman Antu of MSE department.
