JnUTA to donate one-day salary for its students

Nakibul Ahsan Nishad, JnU Correspondent: Authorities of Jagannath University Teachers’ Association (JnUTA)  on Monday night decided to donate their one-day salaries among the university’s underprivileged students amid the countrywide shutdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A press statement signed by JnUTA president Prof DrNureAlam Abdullah and general secretary Prof. Dr. Shamima Begum confirmed the matter.

In the statement they said that they are planning to help underprivileged students of the university by the money as the university cleosesleave many students unemployed who do tuition, proofreading as part-time jobs with no way of supporting themselves.

This salaries will be cut off from April month salaries of the university teachers. It also mentioned that if any teachers are not willing for the donation  they were asked to inform to authorities concerned within April 20.  The decision was taken following the opinions of executive members of the organization.
