98pc midday meals programme implemented: Mostafizur

DHAKA – Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman said here today the government has successfully implemented 98 percent of the midday meals programmes designed for checking primary school student’s dropout.

“The rate of absence has been reduced after introducing of the midday meals programme for the government primary school students across the country,” he said as the chief guest while inaugurating a two-day “Innovation
and Showcasing Fair-2018” at Directorate of Primary Education here.

“Ninety eight percent of the programme has already been implemented,” he said, hoping that the execution rate will be sent percent at the quickest possible time,”

“Social interactions have also been increased with introduction of the program which will help to grow talents. The gap between students and teachers has been reduced with ensuring participation of the teachers in the
program,” he also said.

The government has taken an initiative to appoint a teacher for sports and culture at each of the government primary school across the country aimed at flourishing talents among the students under the fourth stage of Primary
Education Development Program (PEDP), the minister informed.

Director General (DG) of Directorate of Primary Education M Abu Hena Mostofa Kamal presided over the function. Among others, Secretary of Primary and Mass Education Mohammad Asif-uz-Zaman, additional DG Ramzan Ali and high officials of the ministry were present on the occasion.
