`Bookpocket’, a novel of war and love by Rahitul Islam

The famous publishing house in the country, Prothoma, put out the book Bookpocket, which is based on the life of a brave freedom fighter from the Gazaria district of Munshiganj.

The novel’s story revolves around the lives of two characters, Tanes and Zohra. Tanes couldn’t help but join the war for independence in 1971. When Zohra hears about his going to the war, she weeps but doesn’t stop him from entering the war. Tanes assures her that he will return only after ensuring the country’s victory. On the contrary, Zohra promises to wait for his return.

When Tanes returned after the war, he heard that the Pakistan Army had killed Zohra. Since then, fifty years have passed. However, Tanes still carries the photograph and letter of Zohra in his book pocket. He never removed them from his pocket.
