UGC urges universities to finish development project on time

DHAKA, – The University Grants Commission (UGC) has suggested the county’s public universities to start and finish all the development projects on time.

The recommendation came from the inaugural ceremony of a day-long training on ‘Audit Planning and Implementation’ of public universities at UGC today, said a press release.

The highest regulatory commission of country’s higher education UGC said the time and cost of project implementation is increasing due to untimely completion of development projects in most public universities.

The audit are being objected as cost of the projects is increasing due to the lack of proper financial discipline, added the release.

UGC also said integrated financial policy formulation, pre-audit and monitoring cells will be strengthened to reduce the audit objections in public universities to zero.

UGC Member Dr Md Abu Taher presided over the inaugural session while UGC members Prof Dr Dil Afroza Begum addressed the program as chief guest.

UGC member Prof Md Sazzad Hossain, Prof Dr Muhammed Alamgir, Prof Dr Biswajit Chanda and Director General of the Directorate of Education, Culture and Religious Affairs audit AHM Shamsur Rahman also attended the meeting, among others.
