‘HEAL Bangladesh Foundation Trust Fund’ established at DU

A new trust fund titled ‘HEAL Bangladesh Foundation Trust Fund’ has been established at the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology of Dhaka University (DU). On behalf of founder and Executive Director of HEAL Bangladesh Foundation Prof. Dr. Shaheen Islam her husband Mr. S. M. Bakhtiar Alam handed over a cheaque for Tk. 10 lac to DU Treasurer Prof. Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed today June 15, 2021 at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office Lounge to set up this trust fund. Vice-Chancellor of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman was present there as chief guest.

Acting Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Prof. Dr. Mihir Lal Saha, Chairman of the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology Prof. Dr. Mahjabeen Haque and Registrar Md. Enamuzzaman were also present on this occasion.

Out of the income of this Trust Fund, every year 30 students of the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology will be given financial support for their internship program.

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman thanked Prof. Dr. Shaheen Islam and her husband Mr. S. M. Bakhtiar Alam for the donation to establish this trust fund. He hoped that the students of Educational and Counselling Psychology Department would be highly inspired and benefitted by this generous initiative to complete their internship program.
It may be mentioned that Prof. Dr. Shaheen Islam was the founder Chairman of DU Educational and Counselling Psychology Department. She also served as Director of the Student Counselling and Guidance Office of Dhaka University for 9 years.
