A two-day long E-conference on Emerging Population Issues will begin tomorrow, 01 December 2020. The Department of Population Sciences of Dhaka University (DU) in collaboration with UNFPA Bangladesh has organized the conference.

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman will inaugurate the conference while Planning Minister M. A. Mannan, MP will be present at the inaugural session as chief guest. Chairman of DU Population Sciences Department Prof. Dr. Mohammad Mainul Islam will preside over the inaugural session and Country Representative of UNFPA Bangladesh Dr. Asa Torkelson will attend it as special guest. Prof. Dr. Md. Rabiul Haque will deliver welcome speech.

The conference will bring together academicians, activists, researchers, private sectors, NGOs and donors to discuss various demographic, health and socio-economic issues concerning both national and global populations in the light of ongoing pandemic COVID-19.
