JU students protest attack on DUCSU VP Nur

Shahadat Sumon, JU correspondent: A faction of students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) brought out a march protesting the recent attack on the Ducsu VP Nur.

On Monday, December 23, under the banner of “Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Odhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad” the leaders and activists brought out the march from the university`s Murad Chattar area.

After parading important roads and building of the campus it ended at the main with a short brief.

Convenor of the “Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Odhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad” JU branch, Shakiluzzaman said, “We strongly condemn the brutal attack on the student rights activists, including DUKSU VP Nurul Haque Nur. We also demand punishment for those involved in the attack. There are laws in the country for the guilty. Who gave you the responsibility to judge him? ”

“This country was liberated to eliminate all the injustice of the country. But who is fighting against injustice, is being suppressed now.” He added.

At the rally, Sohanur Rahman Sweet, Member of the organisation, said, “Nur has been repeatedly attacked by those belonging to the ruling party, but the attackers are being sheltered. The heroic nation will not be oppressed by any attack.”

Meanwhile, the Socialist Student Front, JU Branch, has organized a human chain expressing solidarity to the anti-NRC and CBA movements in India and protesting the brutal attacks on DUKSU VP Nur.

On Monday noon, they organized the human chain at the central Shaheed Minar premises of the campus.

Meanwhile, the leaders and activist of the organization urged to the Government of India to accept the demands of the ongoing movement.

Professor Jamal Uddin Runu of Environmental Sciences, Professor Tarek Reza of Bangla department, Leaders and activists of the socialist student front also present on the program among others.
