ACS Int. Student Chapter launches at JU

Shahadat Sumon, JU Correspondent: An international student branch of American Chemical Society (ACS) was launched on Jahangirnagar University campus on Sunday.
The founding president of Dhaka University Student branch Md. Ikramul Hasan imparted an introductory session while Associate Professor S. M. Tareque Abedin was in chair.
The faculty advisor of the branch S. M. Tareque Abedin made the announcement of the newly formed executive body for next one year at the gallery room of Chemistry Department.
The executives are: President Humayun Iqbal, Vice President Tarek Aziz and Mahmudul Islam Rain, Secretary Tazrin Islam Tonni, Joint Secretary Arup Bhowmik, and Treasurer Tuli Bhattacharjee.
Besides, Professor Md. Nurul Abser appointed as the chief patron of the organization and Professor Shariff Enamul Kabir as the professional advisor.
Mentionable, American Chemical Society is the United States based chemical organization which was incepted in 1876. ACS International Student Chapter of Jahangirnagar University is the second one in Bangladesh. Earlier, Dhaka University Chapter was launched maidenly in 2018.
