Emerging technologies in oncology

Indian healthcare giant ‘Apollo Hospitals’ has incorporated the state-of-the-art innovations of Artificial Intelligence Systems in cancer services to create individualized treatment plans.

In a news release, the authorities claimed itself as ‘pioneer’ of latest modes of cancer treatment – Proton Therapy – in South-East Asia.

Radiation Oncologist Professor Dr Shyam Shrivastava and Surgical Oncologist Dr Sandip Bipte conducted the knowledge sharing session here. According to Prof Shyam the diagnosing cancer at the right time is of utmost importance and that cancer most certainly is treatable.

Apollo Hospital Mumbai’s Surgical Oncology Consultant Dr Sandip Bipte, also a specialist in breast cancer surgery who completed his training and expertise from Tata Memorial Hospital.

Dr Sandip said: The treatment for breast cancer surgery is today so advanced that cancer patients can be treated without any drastic cosmetic change to the physical appearance.

“On average he treats about 2-3 patients weekly from Bangladesh who are suffering from breast cancer at Apollo Hospitals Navi Mumbai,”.
