Autumn can be a really lovely time of year; the weather starts cooling down, the leaves begin to change colors, and the promise of the holiday season isn’t too far off. But for all the great things about autumn, there are also a few drawbacks. One of the biggest drawbacks? Autumn can really take a toll on your skin.

During this season, when the air turns drier and cooler, your skin retains much less moisture than it ideally should. Symptoms of ‘Autumn skin’ include dryness, flaking and irritation as well as darkening of one’s skin tone.

But not to worry. By using some easy-to-make homemade skincare recipes, you can protect your skin from the dryness of autumn. Here are some recipes you might want to add to your skincare routine this autumn.

To enjoy brightened, moisturized skin you can make a mask using coconut oil and turmeric. This recipe accompanies your skin to combat Autumn skin problems. Simply take 1 Tbsp Coconut Oil and 1 pinch Turmeric, then mix the ingredients together in a bowl. Apply the mixture over a clean face, leaving it on for 15 minutes. Then rinse it off with cold water and pat your face dry with a towel.

Another common issue faced during autumn is dryness of feet. Thankfully, it’s easy to keep feet soft and moisturized with a homemade softening coconut foot scrub. Simply mix ¾ cup Coconut Oil, 1 tsp Vitamin E oil and 1½ cups of Sugar in a small bowl. Add 8 drops of Lavender Essential oil while still continuing to stir the mix. Finally, add 1 tsp Lavender bud to the mix and use a fork to whip up the perfect Foot Scrub that not only soothes rough heels but also keeps them, moisturized and soft.

During Autumn, one’s nails dry up and start cracking due to the dry weather condition. Mix 1 tbsp Coconut and 2 tbsp Olive oil in a double boiler, heating them until they melt. Next, add 1 tsp Vitamin E oil and 2 drops each of lavender and lemon essential oil. Stir well. Pour the warm mixture in a shallow bowl, then immerse your nails into the treatment. Slowly massage the oil into your nails and wipe it off using a clean cloth when done. This nourishing coconut cuticle oil gives shiny, nourished nails.

Want to enjoy the natural beauty of Autumn without worrying about dry skin? Why not use a nourishing organic coconut face spray for nourished, protected skin. To prepare the spray, use a mixer to whip ¼ cup of shea butter until it reaches a soft, fluffy consistency. Next, add ¼ cup fractionated coconut oil to the butter while slowly stirring the mix. Add 1 tbsp Non-Nano Zinc Oxide and mix well with a spoon. Slowly add in another ¼ cup Fractionated Coconut Oil while simultaneously whipping the mix until it turns thin. Now, it’s appropriate for use as a spray. Store it in a spray bottle and use sparingly before you step outside and definitely shake well before use.

Autumn is a season with mesmerizing natural beauty and you can easily rejoice this natural beauty of autumn with your nourished & moisturized skin using these natural homemade skincare recipes.
