Popular Bangladeshi folk singer Ankon Yasmin has achieved two prestigious recognitions in the United States for her outstanding contributions to Bengali folk music and culture. She was presented with a Special Citation by Paterson City Hall in New Jersey and was named Best Female Folk Singer at the 25th Dhallywood Music Awards in New York.

At a ceremony held at Paterson City Hall, New Jersey Mayor Andre Sayegh presented the honor to Ankon. Mayor Sayegh praised her dedication to preserving and promoting Bengali folk music among the younger generation. The event was attended by Paterson City Councilman Shahin Khalique, Deputy Mayor Abu Sufian, Councilwoman-at-Large Maritza Davila, and prominent members of the Bangladeshi expatriate community.
Expressing her gratitude, Ankon thanked Mayor Sayegh, the Paterson city administration, and her fans and listeners across the globe.

In addition, Ankon was named Best Female Folk Singer at the 25th Dhallywood Awards—organized by Showtime Music—held on October 10 at Evangel Church in New York. Sifa Amin, Chairman of All County Healthcare Group and chief guest of the event, presented the award to her.
"This recognition is deeply humbling," Ankon said while reflecting on her achievements. "I have never pursued quick views or viral trends; my focus has always been on presenting meaningful, authentic music and promoting our culture. Music is my passion, and these honors inspire me to work even harder with a strong sense of responsibility."
The annual Dhallywood Awards ceremony also recognized several other prominent Bangladeshi cultural figures and artists for their contributions to entertainment and cultural preservation across North America and internationally.
