Naiem Uddin Siam: Azmeri Haque Badhon is one of the popular actresses of the country. The artiste, who created buzz among the audience for her role in the film ‘Rehana Maryam Noor’, will be seen acting in a new web series soon.
The title of the web series is ‘Guti’. Shankha Dasgupta is making the series for an OTT platform. Badhon will play the role of a drug dealer in the upcoming project.
About the web series, Badhon said, “The web series contains a unique story line and interesting characters. I play the role of a drug dealer named Sultana. My role in the series is very challenging. The audience will see me in a new avatar. ”
The shooting of ‘Guti’ will start soon at various locations in the capital, Chattogram and Cumilla. The makers are planning on hiring local artistes to be a part of the series.
The last-minute preparations of the series are now underway.
Azmeri Haque Badhon, popularly known as Badhon, is a popular actor of the country. She made her film debut with the film ‘Nijhum Oronney’ in 2010 along with Ilias Kanchan and Champa. She has appeared in a number of TV dramas as well.
Badhon gained huge praise from national and international media for her deeply affecting central performance at ‘Rehana Maryam Noor’, the first officially selected Bangladeshi film in the ‘Un Certain Regard’ section of the 74th Cannes Film Festival. She wins in the 14th Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) in ‘Best Actress’ category for this film. Badhon also won the Hong Kong Asian Film Festival award in the New Talent category for the same film.
Badhon is also well known for her work in drama serials such as ‘Choita Pagla’, ‘Shuvo Bibaho’, ‘Rong’ and ‘Hijibiji Nothing’. She will make Bollywood debut with Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Khufiya’ in a prominent role alongside renowned Indian actor Tabu and Ali Fazal.
