Beauty of the road below metro rail getting back

The construction work of the country’s first metro rail is progressing at a fast pace. The work of 11.73 km section from Diabari of Uttara to Agargaon of this project is almost completed. The entire route from Uttara to Motijheel is connected by viaduct. As a result, the road work has been completed. For this reason, the work of widening the road by removing all the construction materials of the metro rail including the road barrier is now in full swing. This is alleviating the suffering of the people and the roads are getting back to their old beauty.
This road is being repaired by removing the road barrier. These roads were closed for a long time due to construction of metro rail. Meanwhile, the barrier on the road from Farmgate to Bangla Motor has also been removed. As a result, there has been some relief in the movement of transport and pedestrians.
It has been seen on the spot that there is no construction material of Metrorail in the mentioned part of the road. In the middle of the road, small concrete walls have been provided along the side of the pillars of the metro rail. Then small concrete wall has been filled with soil. Besides, various species of leafy trees including bottle gourd and basil have been planted. After the completion of the construction work, the road of below Metrorail will be handed over to DNCC. After that, various species of trees will be planted in the middle of the metro rail road for beautification.
Shanti Moni Chakma, Deputy Project Director (Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation) of Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development Project (Line-6), told The Bangladesh Today that the following roads would be handed over to City Corporation after construction. Because of the maintenance of this road is under them. The work of beautification will be done mainly through them. There are plans to plant different species of trees for beautification.
There are also plans to plant various flowering plants including Patabahar, Kanchan, Korbi, Gandharaja, Kurchi, Radhachura, Haimanti, Togar, Sonalu, Krishnachura, Kadam, Bakul, Palash along the Metrorail route.
The road below only a few stations on the Uttara to Agargaon route has not been opened yet. The concerned people are working to clean the garbage of these.
According to DMTCL sources, MRT-6 is the first metro rail construction project in Bangladesh. Metrorail will run 24 sets of trains. Each train will have six cars. The train will run at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour with passengers. Metrorail will have the capacity to carry 60,000 passengers per hour from both sides.
