With Eid-ul-Azha just knocking at the door, excitement over upcoming film releases has already taken over Dhallywood. Discussions are ongoing about how many films will finally hit theatres during the Eid festival. Amid the buzz surrounding the films, audience are also paying close attention to the actresses leading these highly anticipated projects.
As usual directors and producers are bringing some of their most ambitious works to theatres during the Eid festival. This year is no different, with several popular stars returning to the big screen. Among them, six actresses are particularly in focus--Sabila Nur, Bidya Sinha Mim, Shobnom Bubly, Masuma Rahman Nabila, Nazifa Tushi and Puja Chery.
Sabila Nur has quickly become one of the busiest actresses in the film industry. Last Eid, she earned appreciation for her portrayal of “Chitra” in the film “Bonolota Express”. This Eid, she is set to appear as the lead actress in the much-talked-about film “Rockstar”, which has already created strong anticipation among moviegoers.
National Film Award-winning actress Bidya Sinha Mim is making her Eid comeback with the action thriller “Malik”, opposite Arifin Shuvoo.
Meanwhile, popular actress Bubly, who was last seen in Raihan Rafi’s “Pressure Cooker” during Eid-ul-Fitr, is expected to return with “Pinik”. The film, starring Bubly and Ador Azad, has faced several delays despite being completed. However, producers are once again considering an Eid-ul-Azha release.
Another highly discussed project is director Masud Hasan Ujjal’s “Bonolota Sen”. Set against a rural backdrop and inspired by literary storytelling, the film features Masuma Rahman Nabila in the role of the mysterious woman from poet Jibanananda Das’s timeless poem.
Nazifa Tushi, whose film “Pressure Cooker” was released last Eid, will be seen in director Mejbaur Rahman Sumon’s “Roid”.
Puja Chery is also bringing a double treat for audience this Eid. After gaining attention with the film “Domm” last Eid, she is now set to appear in two completely different films--the spy thriller “Masud Rana” and the rural romantic drama “Nakfuler Kabya”.
