Quader opens Bangabandhu T20 Cricket Tournament in Narial

NARIAL, – The Victory Day Bangabandhu T20 Cricket Tournament has begun in Narial on the occasion of Mujib Year. Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader inaugurated the tournament through videoconferencing from his official residence here last night.

The inaugural function of the tournament was held on Narail Government High School ground at 8:30 pm. National cricket team player Mahmudullah Riyadh also spoke on the occasion.

Narail-2 MP and former Captain of the national cricket team Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Deputy Commissioner of Narail Anjuman Ara, District Council Chairman Advocate Sohrab Hossain Biswas, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Jasimuddin, district Awami League President Advocate Subash Chandra Bose, Narial Sadar Upazila chairman Nizam Uddin Khan Nilu and District Sports Association General Secretary Ashikur Rahman Miku, among others, were present.

Five teams are participating in the cricket tournament. The teams are – Birsheshta Noor Mohammad XI, painter SM Sultan XI, poet Bijoy Sarkar XI, Zari Samrat Moslem Uddin XI and Narail Express Foundation Cricket XI.

The T20 tournament is being held in the style of BPL. Walton and Mina Bazar are the sponsors of this tournament.

The first match of the tournament was held between Narail Express Foundation and Bijoy Sarkar XI on Wednesday morning.
