2020 Xi’an Marathon set for November

XI’AN, – The 2020 Xi’an Marathon will be held on November 8, organizers said on Friday. The event will feature a marathon, a half marathon and a 7km race. “Runners are allowed to register through the official website or Qujiang event’s Wechat public platform from October 11 to 13,” read an official announcement. “We will choose 24,000 competitors totally.”

For the potential runners who can’t arrive in Xi’an city due to the COVID- 19 pandemic, the organizing committee of the event set online competition in the edition Xi’an marathon.

Xi’an, home to the Terra-Cotta Warriors and Horses, attracted 30,000 runners from 30 countries and regions to participate in its third marathon
edition in 2019. A source from the Shaanxi sports bureau told Xinhua that Xi’an and its neighboring cities in Northwest China’s Shaanxi province would host 100 marathon or half marathon events from September 2020 to May 2021.
