Barrister Saqeb Mahbub appointed as Officer of the International Bar Association

DHAKA : Bangladeshi lawyer Barrister Saqeb Mahbub, Partner of Mahbub  and  Company, has been appointed as an Officer of the prestigious International Bar Association for the 2024-2025 term.

Saqeb Mahbub will hold the portfolio of “Professional Well-Being Commission Liaison Officer” within the committee and will serve as the Asia Pacific Regional Forum’s Professional Well-Being Commission Liaison Officer for the term.

On March 1, the International Bar Association approved the committee for the 2024-25 term of the Asia Pacific Regional Forum and officially announced the committee on March 4.

This information was conveyed in a press release on Thursday. The press release stated that Dr. Kamal Hossain, an esteemed jurist from Bangladesh, has previously held an important position within the association and Saqeb Mahbub’s appointment marks a significant milestone, as he follows in the footsteps of Dr. Kamal Hossain.

The new executive committee of the IBA is co-chaired by David Liu, Partner at JunHe, Shanghai, China and Preetha Sridharan Pillai, Partner at Skrine, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, underlining the committee’s leadership by distinguished legal professionals in the Asia Pacific region.

Saqeb Mahbub on his representation for Bangladesh stated, “I am proud to be following in the footsteps of Dr. Kamal Hossain, and I am proud to be representing Bangladesh internationally.”

Saqeb Mahbub also expressed his commitment to contributing to the association’s mission and objectives, particularly in the realm of professional well-being within the legal profession.
