President, PM greet all stakeholders on ‘Smart Bangladesh Summit’

President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in separate messages, today greeted all stakeholders on the occasion of ‘Smart Bangladesh Summit’ that is going to be held within October 5-7 next in Dhaka.

In his message, Mohammed Shahabuddin said: “On the occasion, ‘Smart Bangladesh Summit 2023’ organised by ICT division of Bangladesh, I extend my heartfelt felicitations to the participants, organisers, contributors, and all stakeholders.”

The Head of the State said that the vision of Smart Bangladesh holds the promise of transforming the nation of this country into a modern, knowledge-driven society by the year 2041.

This comprehensive plan is aimed at fostering innovation, driving economic growth, and enhancing the well-being of the society in this country, he added.

Under the visionary and prudent leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina the ‘Smart Bangladesh’ initiative aims to create a more intelligent, sustainable and technologically-equipped nation, he said.

“This vision outlines a bold strategy to elevate our country into an affluent middle-income nation, boasting a robust economy and world-class infrastructure that would help become emerging nations in the world,” he continued.

“The ‘Smart Bangladesh Summit 2023’ marks a significant juncture in our journey towards becoming a technologically advanced and digitally empowered smart nation. Embracing the pillars of Smart Citizens, Smart Government, Smart Economy and Smart Society, we embark on a transformative path that propels our economy and fosters inclusive growth,” he said.

The President said that the ICT sector stands as a beacon of promise in Bangladesh’s dynamic landscape.

Over the past few years, this sector has experienced remarkable growth, driven by government support and the dedication of the country’s competent young professionals, he added.

“Our achievements in the ICT sector, including the expansion of digital services have expedited economic growth and enhanced our global reputation,” Shahabuddin said.

He said the Smart Bangladesh Summit showcases the country’s dedication towards nurturing innovation and global collaboration, reinforcing our position on the world stage.

He firmly believed that Smart Bangladesh Summit would act as a platform for exchanging knowledge, experiences, and strategies that are fundamental to realize the vision of Smart Bangladesh.

“By integrating technology, innovation, and effective governance, we can pave the way for a prosperous future for our citizens, while cementing our position in the global innovation milieu,” he hoped.

The President extended his heartfelt gratitude to all concerned who contributed to make the ‘Smart Bangladesh Summit 2023’ a reality.

“Let us forge ahead hand in hand, harnessing the power of innovation to drive progress and prosperity for our beloved nation,” he said.

In her message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said: “I am happy to know that “Smart Bangladesh Summit 2023″ is being held on October 5-7, 2023 in Dhaka.”

“On the joyous occasion, I would like to congratulate the dedicated individuals and all stakeholders who are relentlessly contributing towards making our goal of Smart Bangladesh a reality by 2041,” the premier added.

The Awami League (AL)-led government has persistently been working to turn Bangladesh into a developed-prosperous Smart Bangladesh by 2041, she said.

‘Smart Bangladesh’ is not just a concept, it’s a bold and dynamic initiative that resonates with the visionary spirit of the Greatest Bangalee of all time, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, aiming for a digitally empowered society, thriving economy and inclusive governance, she
continued.

“As we march toward 2041, our collective efforts to enable Smart Citizens, foster Smart Governance, drive Smart Economy and develop Smart Society are setting the stage for a remarkable transformation,” she said.

“By embracing technology in our daily lives learning and businesses, we are opening new avenues of growth and development,” she added.

“This vision is not only about modernizing infrastructure but also about improving the lives of every citizen,” she continued.

“It’s about empowering the youth, bridging gaps, and creating opportunities for all, leaving no one behind,” she mentioned.

“I am glad to share that Bangladesh’s ICT sector has achieved significant growth with expanding internet penetration, a thriving software and hardware industry, including digital service advancements in the last couple of years,” Sheikh Hasina said.

These successes bolster economic development and propel the nation toward a technology-driven future, the premier said, adding: “The’Smart Bangladesh Summit-2023′ is an initiative that gives everyone the chance to interact and share knowledge on a single platform, including experts, decision-makers, and
leaders in the sector.”  
The premier hoped this accelerates the country’s journey towards a digitally empowered and economically prosperous nation.

She firmly believed that this summit, along with its diverse array of parallel events, will further enrich these discussions and contribute to the country’s journey towards becoming a technologically empowered nation.

Both the president and the premier wished the ‘Smart Bangladesh Summit-2023’ a grand success.
