Md. Minhazul Abedin Asif dreams of playing for National Cricket Team

Md. Minhazul Abedin Asif, a promising rising star for the future of the Bangladesh National Cricket Team, dreams of playing for the national team.

He plays for Sheikh Russel Sports Club in the domestic league. Recently, this young talent scored 122 runs in just 42 balls in the final of the T20 tournament of Inter-Division Cricket tournament and come into the discussion.

Asif was born on 5 July 2002 in Tongi, Gazipur. His love for cricket appears in his childhood. This youngster now dreams of playing for the national team and he is going forward step by step. In this journey, he already started breaking one record after another.

He had a courtesy meeting with the game’s world icon and ‘Universe Boss’ quoted batsman Chris Gayle a few days ago. Gayle taught him various techniques to be successful in batting.

Minhazul said, “I am very happy and excited to meet Universe Boss Chris Gayle. We had a chance to talk for a while. He has shown some unique style of batting then.”

Minhazul achieved a couple of outstanding achievements in the three-day international T20 cricket tournament ‘Khelo Bangladesh vs Khelo India’ in Delhi, India. He won the Man of the Match and Game Changer medals in that tournament held from June 5 to June 7 at the Rotak Haryana Stadium in Delhi.

In the first match of the tournament, Bangladesh batted first and set India a daunting target of 250 runs for 4 wickets. To reply, India’s inning collapsed within 225 runs. So, Bangladesh won by 24 runs in that match. In that match, Minhazul scored 129 runs off 60 balls with 12 sixes and 4 fours.

Despite all these, Minhazul is very cautious about making his place in the national team. He believes that the path is not easy. In this regard, he said, “He has to work hard to achieve his goal.”
