A factory worker died when a stone grinding machine exploded at ‘Panama Rubber Industries’ factory in the city’s Kadamtali area this morning.

The victim was identified as Md Delowar Hossain, 44, a resident of Mymensingh Sadar upazila.

According to the factory workers and officials, Hossain was severely injured as the machine exploded while grinding stones at the factory.

Hossain was rescued and rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the duty doctors pronounced him dead around 8:30am.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of DMCH Police Camp Md Bacchu Mia told BSS that the body of the deceased has been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy.
