PM donates Tk 10 crore to BSMMU poor patients’ fund

DHAKA  – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today donated Taka 10 crore in aid of the poor patients of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).

She donated the amount to “BSMMU Oti Daridra Rogi Kalyan Tahabil”, a fund meant for the very poor patients, at a function at her official Ganabhaban residence here this morning.

BSMMU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Kanak Kanti Barua received a cheque for the money from Sheikh Hasina.

Other senior officials of the university were also present on the occasion.

At the function, the prime minister also gave financial assistance of Taka 2.15 crore to 14 individuals, including noted film actor Prabir Mitra, film actress and dancer Nutan and folk song ‘Samrat’ (king) Abdul Kuddus Boyati.
