INSIA by Sayma Shahida Islam, an Epoch-Making Step toward Women Empowerment

Empowering women is a worldwide trend in almost all the countries in the world. Bangladesh is leading the way for all in this regard, especially in the garment industry, the second-highest foreign currency earner among other sources of Bangladesh’s economy. Today we are going to learn about a woman who started her career establishing a garments factory. Also, she has created income opportunities for underprivileged women.

Sayma Shahida Islam is the name of a super sensual woman helping poor feckless women with the help of her organization INSIA. INSIA is a charity organization that aims to give support to and train helpless, poor women as well as accommodate employment for them.

Being the youngest of five sisters, Sayma was born on 12th November 1991 in Dhaka. Her father, Alhaj Md. Nazrul Islam is a successful businessman and social worker. Meanwhile, being the sister of a female doctor, a female engineer, a pharmacist, and a teacher, Sayma started his early education in science, dreaming of becoming a doctor. Eventually, she changed her group subject to business studies and completed her BBA in finance at the family’s will, although she dreamed of studying fashion design.
Though she was not a topper like her other sisters, she had what it needed to be a successful businesswoman. She opened her own fashion house during her BBA Final year, and then after completing her BBA, she opened a farm named “Aamar Gowal” alongside preparing for the BCS.

Although it shut down, facing many difficulties in the year 2015. But she didn’t stop believing in herself. During this whole time, she got massive inspiration from her parents which led her to open a buying house, and eventually, she started her own three-line garment factory.

But this extraordinary woman is mainly well-known for her charitable organization INSIA. She started this organization to help the underprivileged women of the society who need strong support to endure the handful of poverty. Starting its activities from Keraniganj, INSIA aims to spread this free project on handicrafts in 64 districts. At present, 100 women are taking INSIA’s free classes in Keraniganj.

For her waywardness with women empowerment, this wonder woman has been recognized with many awards like Priyabashini Award, Star Iconic Award as a successful entrepreneur, and many more awards for her social activities. Women like Sayma are role models for women who aim to become self-reliant.
