DHAKA,  – Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of renowned journalist Riazuddin Ahmed. In a condolence message, the minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary, recalled the working life of Ekhusey Padak recipient deceased journalist Riazuddin who was also a former president of Jatiya Press Club and Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalist (BFUJ). Riazuddin was founder editor of the two English dailies —Financial Express and the News Today. He died at a city hospital on Saturday at the age of 77.
