DHAKA,  – The High Court (HC) today asked Bangladesh Telecom Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to remove all the audio-video footages containing ‘derogatory remarks’ made by Dr M Murad Hasan, who submitted his resignation from the cabinet today, from different online platforms.

A High Court division bench comprising Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman passed the suo moto order as Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Suman brought the matter to court’s attention.

“The court asked the concerned deputy attorney general to inform it by Wednesday morning the actions taken by the BTRC in this regard,” Barrister Suman told newsmen.

The lawyer said those offensive clippings cannot remain on the online platforms as those can leave negative impact on the children and youths. Recently, a telephone conversation between Dr Murad, a lawmaker from Jamalpur-4 constituency, and a movie actor and actress came into light, where the first was heard hurling abusive words towards them. He was heard threatening the actress.
