Mehazabien Chowdhury is set to make a surprise guest appearance in Khalnayak, the upcoming feature film starring Afran Nisho and Tama Mirza.

The actress reportedly joined the film’s shoot in Kolkata without publicising her involvement, according to multiple sources connected with the project. The filmmakers and production company are keen to keep her appearance under wraps until the film’s release. They have yet to make an official announcement.

The film will mark Mehazabien’s third feature film. She previously played lead roles in Priyo Maloti and Saba.

Khalnayak marks the feature-film debut of director Vicky Zahed, who has built a reputation for creating diverse content for television and streaming platforms. The filmmakers have kept the plot and the characters’ identities secret.

The team has completed filming in Dhaka and Kolkata. The cast also includes Shahiduzzaman Selim, Chanchal Chowdhury, Intekhab Dinar and Kolkata-based actress Priyanka Sarkar.

Production company SVF Alpha-i Entertainment Limited had earlier planned to release the film towards the end of this year. However, its release in 2026 remains uncertain. If plans proceed as expected, Khalnayak could reach cinemas during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr in 2027.
