Dhallywood actress Shirin Shila has completed 12 years in the film industry, marking a significant milestone in her acting career.

The actress recently began shooting for the film “Violence”, directed by Babar, in Canada. She will portray one of the major characters in the film.

During the shooting, Shila travelled to New York, USA, where she received an honour at the “Dhallywood Awards 2026”. She had previously received the same recognition twice.

Throughout her career, Shila has received several accolades, including Babisas Awards, AJFB Award and Ananda Mela Awards.

Reflecting on her journey, Shila said, “I began my film career alongside Shakib Khan. Since then, I have worked in numerous films and received immense love from the audience. Their affection remains my greatest inspiration.”

She expressed gratitude to award organisers, journalists, her mother and brother for their continuous support.

“It is unbelievable how quickly 12 years have passed. I still have so many dreams surrounding cinema,” she added.

Shila made her film debut with “Hitman”, released on 6 October 2014, during Eid-ul-Azha. The film also featured Shakib Khan and Misha Sawdagor.

Her notable films include “Khoniker Bhalobasa”, “Mia BibiRazi”, “Mon Jane Na Moner Thikana”, “Begum Jan” and “Birangana 71”.
