The wait appears to be finally coming to an end. The postponed event is returning under a new name and on a new date. After months of anticipation among Dhaka audiences for a performance by popular Pakistani band Kaavish, the wait will finally end on September 26 with Wave Fest: Enjoy the Full Moon. Bangladeshi bands Shironamhin and Meghdol will join Kaavish on the same stage.

Last Saturday, organiser Prime Wave Communication announced the new concert date on its official Facebook page. The event was previously titled Wave Fest: Feel This Winter, but has now been renamed Wave Fest: Enjoy the Full Moon. The organisers have not yet disclosed the venue, citing security concerns.

According to the organisers, those who purchased advance tickets for last year’s concert will be able to attend this year’s event using the same tickets. New tickets are also now available through the online platform Tickify. General tickets are priced at Tk 2,999, while VIP tickets cost Tk 5,499.

The concert was originally scheduled for December 5 last year, featuring Kaavish, Shironamhin and Meghdol in Dhaka. However, the event was postponed at the last moment after the organisers failed to obtain the necessary permission amid the overall situation in the country at the time.

Kaavish was formed in 1998 by Jaffer Zaidi and Maaz Maudood. The band performed in Bangladesh for the first time in January 2025. Several of their songs, including Bachpan, Tere Pyaar Mein, More Saiyaan, Nindiya Re and Faasle, have struck a chord with listeners.

Meanwhile, local bands Shironamhin and Meghdol have also remained busy with their musical activities. Meghdol recently performed in Kolkata alongside Chandrabindoo. Their new song Mulluk has also been released on Coke Studio Bangla.
