TBT DESK

Popular small-screen actress Richi Solaiman has entered a new chapter in her acting career, making her film debut with ‘Robi in Dhaka’.

Richi has earned audiences’ affection through numerous television dramas over the years. Her performances in compelling stories and distinctive roles have regularly drawn praise. Now, she is set to make her first appearance on the big screen.

Actor and filmmaker Rajib Salehin has directed the film. While audiences have shown interest in his work, Richi’s big-screen debut has also excited her fans. However, the team has yet to reveal details about her character or the film’s storyline.

Confirming her involvement, Richi said, “Yes, I have acted in ‘Robi in Dhaka’. However, I cannot share details about my character or the film just yet. The entire team may announce more information soon. Until then, everyone will have to wait.”

Richi occasionally stays in the US with her husband because of his work. However, she spends most of her time in Dhaka to oversee her children’s education and her business. She has not stepped away from acting entirely.

Recently, she appeared in filmmaker Chayanika Chowdhury’s drama ‘Bhalobashar Onno Nam Tumi’. Richi said the drama received a positive response from viewers.

Speaking about her continued work in television, Richi said, “I still receive offers to act in dramas with beautiful stories. If I like the story and the character, I will certainly consider them. Acting remains my profession, and I love it and feel comfortable doing it. My fans and viewers always want me to appear regularly in dramas, so I try to take on roles whenever I find a good story.”

Alongside acting, Richi recently served as one of three judges in a reality show’s search for its next male and female leads.
