Yasser calls for coordinated efforts for development of Kishoreganj

State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury today emphasized the coordinated role of the administration, police and political leaders in maintaining law and order, controlling drugs, easing traffic congestion and addressing various recent incidents in Kishoreganj.

He made the remarks as the chief guest at a views exchange meeting, organized by the Kishoreganj district administration at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office there this morning. 

It was his first meeting in Kishoreganj since he was assigned to oversee and coordinate overall activities, including improving the law and order situation in Kishoreganj.

During the meeting, the state minister listened attentively to various issues concerning the district’s overall law and order situation, drug control, traffic congestion in the town and opinions of the political leaders.

Addressing the meeting, Yasser said that the recent much-discussed and important issues in the district would be considered with due importance and necessary measures would be taken promptly.
He firmly assured that the government and administration would work effectively to resolve the overall problems of Kishoreganj.

Kishoreganj Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shohana Nasrin presided over the meeting while Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Mizanur Rahman highlighted various aspects of the law and order situation in the district.

Besides, district BNP leaders highlighted different issues of recent incidents in Kishoreganj, including the murder of Mithamoin Upazila BNP President Zahidul Islam Jahangir Alam, processions by banned organizations, and death threats.

They demanded that the administration’s role be stricter and stronger in response to these untoward incidents.

At the meeting, all concerned, irrespective of political affiliation, were urged to work together to maintain law and order and peace and stability in the district and to reduce public sufferings.
