Health Minister for eliminating corruption from society

Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain today urged people and public representatives to eliminate corruption from every level of society while ensuring transparency and honesty.

"Public representatives must work with utmost transparency, honesty and dedication to restore people's rights and corruption must be eliminated from every level of society," he said. 

The minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at an exchange meeting held at the Manikganj Deputy Commissioner's Office.

Food Minister Afroza Khanam Rita also addressed the event as the special guest. 

The Health Minister said no financial or unethical benefits could be accepted in order to restore people's rights. 

"In the past, officials had been pressured and threatened to provide unethical benefits but those days are now over. Everyone must perform their duties with faith, honesty and purity," he said.

Regarding the health sector, the minister said the government is determined to take the country's health sector to a global standard within the next three years. 

"To achieve this goal, the quality of healthcare must be improved, quality food must be ensured in hospitals, and doctors and nurses must provide patients with proper and humane treatment," he said.

The minister also urged people to prevent drug abuse and gambling to give a sustainable environment to children.

Afroza Khanam Rita said, "We want to build Manikganj district as a model district. 

For this, everyone must work together to eliminate drugs from society. The government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against drugs. No one involved in drug use or sale will be spared."

She urged the authorities concerned to work in a coordinated manner to protect children and young people from the devastating effects of drugs. 

Manikganj Deputy Commissioner Nazmun Ara Sultana presided over the meeting. 

Manikganj-1 lawmaker S A Kabir Jinnah, Manikganj-2 lawmaker Engineer Moinul Islam Khan Shanto, Superintendent of Police Golam Sarwar Alam, District Information Officer Nur Hossain and District Food Safety Officer Rowshan Ara spoke at the event as special guests.
