The person I am going to write about in today’s article is equally discussed in both this time and that time in Bangladesh. To say at that time, after receiving the nomination of Awami League instead of Golam Mawla Rony in the last Eleventh Parliamentary Election, there was a great deal of curiosity, excitement, anxiety and discussion about him in the civil society of Bangladesh. He is also the nephew of the current Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda. Due to which he not only became the member of parliament of Patuakhali-3 constituency but also gained a lot of fame as the nephew of the nation. Because during the election, the adjective nephew was used more than his name throughout the headlines of all electronic and print media in the country. After participating in the election, there were questions in various quarters about all the issues of victory, but basically this SM Sahjada Saju is a very polite and simple-minded, pious man. Since winning the election and taking oath, his responsible attitude towards the common people and his work is quite admirable as well as enviable. Dashmina Galachipa, every hat-bazaar-village-ganj-locale of the green baths in terms of meditation-knowledge towards the pure nature, Shahjada Saju is one of the competent and meritorious people’s representatives. The song of courage and indestructible consciousness plays through his two eyes.

The person mentioned in my article is SM Shahjada Saju, member of parliament of Patuakhali-3 constituency, my village home. As a resident of the same area and in terms of political relations, I call him Saju Bhai. My contact with Saju Bhai has intensified over the last two months. I sent him my written several English editorial columns many time. Needless to say, while exchanging greetings over the phone with me, his eloquence, eloquence and expression of sincerity all combined, he is a man of exceptional thinking and a liberal-minded man. As far as I know from my personal acquaintances and research. After being elected as a Member of Parliament, he visited various areas of Patuakhali-3 constituency and identified various problems of this neglected historical area.

Two were scheduled to meet at his allotted government residence last month to discuss an important issue, but we did not go due to our busy schedules. However, when I spoke to him on June 15, he said very politely – Nibir! That there is a session in Parliament about the budget tomorrow. I still could not have guessed that the next day at noon he was going to set such a beautiful example for the nation in the National Assembly. In the past, different MPs in Bangladesh have presented their position in the National parliament on the plight of the people in various ways, but in the language of the people, Shahjada Saju is the first and unique.

I still remember SM Shahjada Saju saying on the eve of his nomination in the election, “I have been involved in Awami League politics since my student life. The people here want the young generation.” He said the speech with utmost courage and confidence all the time he is trying to implement the promises made by him to the public. That became clear when anyone spoke to people in his constituency. SM Shahjada Saju took part in the general discussion on the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2021-22 in the session of the National Assembly to express the views of the people in his area. He hung a placard with the words ‘No more claims, Don’t want relief want a dam’ around his neck and looked at the speaker in a voice with a helpless enchanted look at the Prime Minister. On that day, the people of Bangladesh, including the Prime Minister, were fascinated by his actions.

Although Patuakhali-3 constituency is a very important and potentially region of Bangladesh, the tendency of river erosion is very high in this district. As a result of erosion of Lohalia and Payra rivers in this district, the land area of Dumki upazila has decreased. The erosion of the Tetulia River, which flows from the east of Patuakhali district, has already engulfed most of the Panpatti Union and destroyed several unions and hat bazaars. As a result, Galachipa Upazila has been severely damaged. At the same time, the lack of sustainable dams in Kalapara, Galachipa and Dumki Upazilas has caused a lot of damage and misery to the people.

As a result of heavy rains year after year, the water of the river channel increased and caused floods in Patuakhali which created misery and existential crisis in the local life and displaced hundreds of families. The result is extensive damage to crops and livestock, as well as to agriculture, which cannot possible to fill by with just a small amount of relief or compensation. Such problems need to be addressed by building sustainable dams. And if this issue is presented in the parliament in general, it will not get importance or will not raise the voice of the concerned people. Realizing this clearly, Shahjada Saju adopted this alternative presentation technique. Which has borne an excellent example of his intellect and thinking. However, in that session of that day, the Prime Minister’s fascinated gaze and applause and the analysis of the various good deeds of the young generation in the past – intelligence – alternative activities, indicates that she must be certainly sensitive to any logical demands of the young generation.

Seeing the great interest and enthusiasm of the Prime Minister in all the activities and achievements of the youth in Bangladesh in the past days, one thing can be said for sure that she (Sheikh Hasina) finds her victory in any victory of the youth. The support he received from the leaders and activists from his involvement in politics in his student life and leading various movements from the front lines has not decreased in the present. He went to the cricket field at different times. Sometimes the cricketers are invited with their families at Ganobhaban. Sometimes she cooks with her own hands and sends them. Whenever she sees a young man doing a good job, she keeps on evaluating his effortlessly. Due to which, in the last election, when a bunch of young people were given priority. And when a radical change was made in the ministry, many people were not able to understand why this change was brought that day.

Although the main driving force of a country is the people of the country, the lifeblood of a country is the young society of that country. The future of Bangladesh will move forward in tandem with the world through the hands of the young generation. As soon as our Prime Minister realizes this, she is always looking for young people. Not just politicians or players. She also looked for young people in the world of acting and drew them closer.

From taking actors-artists-student leaders as companions in many important state tours or rallies, to addressing the latest Mashrafe as Tui, everything deserves special praise. However, I conclude today’s article with the hope that the Prime Minister will find out how much she appreciates the presentation of this alternative by Shahjada Saju’s through the response of the people in the next elections.
