The government has extended the ongoing ban for another month as the coronavirus situation is not under control. The Cabinet Division has issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday (16 June). The ongoing ban, as announced earlier, was due to end at midnight yesterday. Now this restriction will continue till July 15.

Earlier, when asked about the ongoing restrictions, State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said that, the local administration would be able to impose restrictions if the number of infections increased in a new area.

Especially in the border areas of the country, it is being monitored as there is more infection now. No matter how small or large the range. The current restrictions will continue. In this case, if any public transport violates the hygiene rules, that transport will be stopped. Mobile court operations will continue.

It has been said in the 5 point directive of the cabinet division to prevent corona infection-
1. The country’s tourist centers, resorts, community centers and entertainment centers will remain closed.
2. Public gatherings such as social (post-wedding ceremonies (Walima), birthdays, picnics, parties, etc.), political and religious ceremonies should be stopped.
3. Grocery stores and hotel restaurants will be able to sell and deliver food from 6 a.m. to 10 P.M and serve half the number of customers.
4. The Deputy Commissioners of the high risk districts of Covid-19 will be able to take necessary steps as per the rules to prevent the infection in their respective areas in discussion with the concerned technical committee.
5. And all types of public transport, including inter-district, will be able to carry half the number of passengers. However, all concerned, including the passengers, must follow the hygiene rules including wearing a mask.

It is to be noted that the government imposed restrictions from 5 to 11 April to prevent the infection of coronavirus. It was finally extended to April 13. Then the ‘strict’ restrictions started from April 14. The term was extended several times by imposing and relaxing various conditions. On May 23 (Sunday), the Cabinet Division issued a notification to extend the ban by one week. That restriction lasted until May 30. The last period was extended for another 10 days till June 16.
