DHAKA,  – Chinese State Councilor and Defense Minister Wei Fenghe, who arrived here this morning, paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi in the capital.

State minister for foreign affairs Md Shahriar Alam and Chinese ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming were present, a foreign ministry’s spokesperson said. Earlier, Alam received the Chinese Defense Minister at Bangabandhu Air Base here on his arrival at 10:45 am for brief visit.

The Chinese minister will call on President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban at 3 pm today and also have a meeting with Chief of Bangladesh Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed. The China’s Minister of Defense is scheduled to leave here for Sri Lankan capital Colombo later today.
