Bangladesh-India maintain stronger friendly, warm ties: Quader

DHAKA,  – Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said Bangladesh and India are now maintaining stronger friendly, warm and development-oriented relations than any previous time.

“If relations with neighboring countries become friendly and strong, it will be easier to make mutual progress and resolve unsettled bilateral issues,” he told reporters after Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das paid a courtesy call on him at his secretariat office.

Quader, also Awami League general secretary, said Bangladesh-India relations are tied with the bloodstained 1971 Liberation War and the neighboring countries are tested friends.

He said the relationship bridge between the two countries are advancing towards newer dimensions with the course of time

During the meeting they discussed the progress of the under-implementation projects in road infrastructural development and public transport in Bangladesh under the Indian Lines of Credit, he added.

The minister extended his thanks to the high commissioner for her cooperation in taking ahead the road infrastructural development projects in Bangladesh.
