DHAKA,  – Former Mayor of Sylhet City Corporation Badaruddin Ahmad Kamran died of coronavirus infection at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) here in the early hours of today.

He was 69, said his younger brother Masuk Uddin.

Kamran, a member of the central executive committee of Awami League, was admitted to the CMH on June 7 after his physical condition deteriorated due to being infected with COVID-19.

He felt acute chest pain at about 2.45am and then the doctor declared him dead within few minutes, Masuk Uddin added.
