Azizul, a soldier of Bangabandhu’s ideology, has stood by 2,000 families on his own initiative

Md. Azizul Islam, Chairman of Sholghar Union Parishad of Srinagar Upazila of Munshiganj is working for the welfare of the poor and hardworking people of his area.

He helped feed 2,000 families on his own initiative during this time of disaster in Corona.

According to the locals, 10 kg of rice, two kg of potatoes, one kg of onion, one liter of oil, one kg of salt, one kg of pulses and one kg of soap were given to each family in the area. This trend is still continuing.

The people of the area were largely neglected before he took charge. After taking charge, Azizul Islam has continued various developmental activities including roads and ghats with government grants and private funds.

Sholghar Union Parishad did not have any government building, the institutional activities of the Union Parishad were carried out in the rented office.

Azizul Islam has bought 14 acres of land worth around Tk 2 crore with his own funds and registered it in the name of Union Parishad.

He received the gold medal from the then Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid as the best chairman of Munshiganj district in 2016 along with the love of the people of the area. As a result, the neglected Union Parishad became the Model Union Parishad.

Srinagar Upazila Sholghar Union Parishad Chairman Alhaj Mohammad to prevent corona infection. Azizul Islam has distributed food items to about two thousand families on his own initiative.

It is learned that Azizul Islam is a life member of Bangladesh Union Parishad Forum (BUPF) and has received gold medal as a successful chairman of LGSP with ‘A’ grade (Union Parishad Gold Medal-2018).

In this regard, Md. Azizul Islam said, I am a soldier of Bangabandhu’s ideology. I am serving the people under the direction of Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by cherishing her ideals. I will continue to do so in the future.
“I am also willing to sacrifice my life for the people of Sholghar Union,” he added. I want to be with them in the future as they are with me now. Because of their vote, I am able to do service and public welfare work in this town.
