Severity of cold to abate from tomorrow

DHAKA,  – The severity of the ongoing cold spell across the country, especially over the northern regions, is likely to ease from tomorrow, according to met official.

“Severity of cold is likely to abate slightly from tomorrow. The sun might be seen tomorrow while day and night temperature would rise over the country,” Deputy Director of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) Kawsar Perveen told BSS today.

The severity of cold, however, may remain unchanged over the eastern part of Dhaka and Faridpur, Madaripur, Gopalganj, Chattogram, Barishal, Rajshahi and Rangpur regions, she said.

Besides, the mercury may dip again on December 25-26 as there is a prediction of cloudy weather along with drizzling on the days, the official added.

The weather over the Faridpur, Madaripur, Gopalganj, Barishal, Khulna, Jashore, Chuadanga and Rajshahi districts has improved slightly today after the current season’s first spell of mild cold wave that lasted for three days.

The lowest temperature was recorded at 10.1 degree Celsius in Faridpur while it was 12.2 degree Celsius in the capital city today.

In 24 hours weather bulleting commencing from 9 am today, the BMD said moderate to thick fog may occur over the country during midnight to morning. The night and day temperature may rise in the next 72 hours.

Weather may remain dry with partly cloudy sky over the country in next 24 hours as of 9 am tomorrow, it said.

The sunsets at 5.16 pm today and rises at 6.37 am tomorrow in the capital.
