Mild cold wave may begin next week

DHAKA,  – A mild cold wave is likely to sweep over the northwestern part of the country in next week, a press release of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said here today.

“The temperature will rise slightly after December 22 and it will fall gradually after December 26,” Meteorologist Aftab Uddin said, adding that
cold wave is expected to hit in January.

Weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country which would be valid for the next 24 hours commencing from 9am today.

Moderate to thick fog may occur over northwestern part and light to moderate fog may occur at places elsewhere over the country during late night
to early morning, the met office release said. Night temperature may fall by 1-3 degree Celsius and day temperature may fall slightly over the country.

Country’s maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 29.6 degree Celsius at Teknaf while the lowest temperature was recorded at 10.8 degree
Celsius at Rajarhat in Rangpur, it added. The sun sets today at 5.15 pm and rises at 6.36 am tomorrow in the capital.
