RIYADH  – Saudi Arabia announced on Sunday it has provided more than 11 billion U.S. dollars assistance to Yemen, Sabq online local news reported.

The announcement was made by King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action, adding that the country has initiated 269 projects with a total budget of 1.6 billion dollars and provided more than 783 million dollars to the United Nations for Yemen.

The Saudi and worldwide reliefs to Yemen are part of efforts to ease the suffering of Yemenis who are leading devastating lives.

Saudi Arabia has been leading for the past three years a war against Houthi rebels in support of Yemen exiled government, thus beside the airstrikes Yemenis must cope with clashes and civil conflicts by local armed groups.
