CHATTOGRAM,– Bangladesh players’ name and number will be imprinted on their jersey when they take on Afghanistan in the one-off Test match, beginning on September 5 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhurys Stadium in Chattogram.

Normally the Test jersey is completely white with no name and number behind the jersey but with the advent of the World Test Championship, ICC suggested the participants to put on jersey with name and number.

Even though the Afghan Test is not included in Bangladesh’s World Test Championship game, the BCB prepares jersey for the players with the guideline of ICC.

The Jersey numbers of each Bangladesh players that they wear in ODI and T20 cricket will be same in Test cricket also, a BCB official said.

The likes of India, Australia, England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka had already played the World Test Championship game wearing jersey with name and number.

Bangladesh will start their mission in Test Championship with a two-match Test series against India at India’s den in next November.

BCB will use this Afghanistan Test as a jersey trial.
