Two-day practice match end in a draw

DHAKA -The two-day practice match between Bangladesh and New Zealand XI has been ended in a draw at Lincoln as the rain almost wash out the second and final day’s play.

New Zealand XI reached 57 for the loss of two wickets as rain forced to stop the play in the 12th over triggering the match to end in a draw.

Earlier, Bangladesh dismissed their first innings at 411.

Pacer Mustafizur struck early on New Zealand XI’s innings as he sent back to Jakob Bhula for duck in the fourth ball of the first over.

Wicket keeper Liton Das took the catch of Jakob behind the stumps. Andrew Townsend Fletcher was confident with bat but he also departed from the crease after composing a fluent 37-ball 43 hitting seven boundaries.

Bangladesh will take on the host New Zealand in the first of the three-match Test series starting on Thursday (February 28) at Hamilton.
