Yoga practice essential for physical and mental fitness

RAJSHAHI  – Regular yoga practice is of essence for both physical fitness and mental happiness coupled with generating self- confidence and courage among human beings.

Yoga can also bring joy and peace in body and mind and its practice is very much significant to keep the body disease-free and workable.

The views were expressed at a discussion at Shilpakala Academy auditorium in Rajshahi city yesterday afternoon.

Assistant Indian High Commission Office in Rajshahi organized the discussion to mark the International Yoga Day- 2018.

Chaired by Assistant Indian High Commissioner Abhijit Chottopadhya, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, Divisional Commissioner Nur-Ur-Rahman, Deputy Commissioner SM Abdul Kader and Indian High Commission’s Second Secretary AK Mishra.

Disseminating her expertise on the issue, Indian Yoga teacher Dimpy Kapoor says yoga is very effective for prevention and mitigation of various non- communicable diseases so people irrespective of ages and sexes should do its practice regularly.

She said regular yoga practice reduces many physical disorders like high blood pressure, lever problem, constipation, skin disease, obesity, arthritis, asthma, diabetes and migraine.

In his remarks, lawmaker Badsha says yoga practice acts as a bigger antibiotic to protect the body from various diseases.

He, however, put emphasis on enhancing the requisite facilities for yoga practice with generating public awareness in this regard.
