NATORE – Two persons including a woman were killed and three others injured in a road accident near Komela  Supermarket area under Alaipur in the town this morning.

The deceased was identified as Sulota Debnath, 35, wife of Mongal Debnath and Kanai Chandra, 32, son of late Kartrik Chandra of Senapatil village under Naldanga upazila of the district.

Fire Station Officer in Natore Md Mohiuddin said the accident occurred when a sand-laden truck hit a battery-run Easy bike in the area around 6.30 am, leaving two dead and injuring three others on the spot.

The wounded were sent to Natore Sadar Hospital and the bodies were sent to the morgue for autopsy.

Police detained the truck but its driver managed to flee, said Sub- Inspector (SI) of Natore Sadar Thana Rubel Uddin.

A case was filed with concerned thana in this connection.
