CUMILLA  – At least 13 workers were killed and two others injured as a coal-laden truck ploughed through a brick kiln and turned over on makeshift mess of the workers in Chauddagram upazila of the district early today.

The identities of the victims are yet to be known immediately.

The accident took place at Narayanpur village of the upazila as the driver of the truck lost control over the steering around 5:30 am, said Abdullah Mahfuz, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chauddagram Police Station.

During the incident, the kiln workers were sleeping in their mess, he added.
